Burnham Shaker Products was founded in 1998 and produces hand-crafted reproduction oval Shaker boxes and furniture. We’re located in central Maine, 14 miles east of I-95 and 20 miles inland from coastal US Rt. 1.
Our Shaker boxes are made of hand-selected native Maine hardwoods. The procedure is still a handmade and precise process, much the same as the Shakers used 150 years ago. We’re proud to be keeping this wonderful craft alive.
Our Shaker-influenced country furniture is made of solid Eastern White pine. All exposed painted surfaces (tops, fronts and sides) are knot-free. The finish is a wax over paint, giving the pieces a warm, country feel. Minor distressing and square-cut nails complete the effect of high-quality reproductions. We offer an extensive line of chimney and jelly cupboards, hutches, base cabinets and small tables, in a variety of sizes and configurations. We also welcome inquiries for custom variations of our current offerings.
Because of the size and weight of our pieces, we find costs prohibitive for shipping. Our venue to our customers is face-to-face, either via visits to our shop or at one of several folk art / craft shows that we attend throughout the northeast. Please refer to the schedule for shows that we’ll be attending this year. Choose the piece you would like, in the color you want, and we can bring it to the next show in your area. Orders must be placed at least one month prior to a show for pickup. If you plan to visit our shop, it’s always a good idea to call ahead to confirm that we’ll be there and to get directions.
We believe that our furniture will not only serve the buyer for a lifetime, but will be handed down to be the next generation’s antiques.
